The high-specialty urological center UROVALLARTA
Features a prostate health unit focused on the diagnosis of prostate conditions and patient expectations (continence, erection preservation, even ejaculation in special cases), providing comprehensive care.
UROVALLARTA's prostate health unit offers high-technology and minimally invasive therapeutic options, currently used in prestigious centers in the USA and Europe.
Common symptoms:
- - Difficulty urinating
- - Constantly waking up to urinate at night
- - Weaker or interrupted urine stream

The main prostate issues can be classified into prostatitis (infectious), benign prostatic growth, or prostate cancer.
Benign Prostatic Growth:
Treatment options
Bipolar Resection of the Prostate:
A minimally invasive procedure with quick recovery where access is gained through the urinary tract. It involves removing the prostatic growth using plasma arc generation, reducing the likelihood of bleeding, without undesired effects like urinary incontinence or impotence.
This technique is ideal for medium-sized prostatic growths, performed as an outpatient procedure, with excellent control to avoid hemorrhage.
Rezum:
A new technology in Mexico, with UROVALLARTA being one of the few centers having it.
It involves injecting sterile water vapor directly into the prostatic growth. The vapor injection causes thermal destruction of the prostatic growth causing symptoms.
This technique allows for quick recovery, enabling the patient to return home and resume activities with minimal limitations. It's ideal for patients wanting to preserve a good level of ejaculation, as well as improve urinary function.
Láser (HOLEP – THULEP):
A minimally invasive procedure with quick recovery, entering through the urethra, removing large volumes of prostatic growth using a laser to minimize bleeding, allowing quick recovery and return to normal activities.
HIFU:
High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound is a procedure using ultrasound equipment focused on a point, causing selective destruction of prostatic tissue; the growth within the prostate is defined during treatment planning, allowing its elimination.
The procedure is guided by ultrasound, ensuring high precision; avoiding injury to the sphincter and nerves, preserving urine control, erections, and in many cases, the ability to ejaculate.
Prostate Cancer:
Treatment options
Following international standards and recommendations from the world's best centers, UROVALLARTA's Prostate Health Unit uses a diagnosis-treatment-follow-up protocol. UROVALLARTA's unit has the latest techniques and technology for managing cancer at each stage, based on the model used in England by the University College of London.

Precision Diagnosis
Blood Tests and Medical Evaluation:
The ideal initial step for prevention is medical evaluation and a blood test (prostate-specific antigen), which helps suspect the possible presence of the disease in the patient. If suspicion arises at this step, proceed to the next one.
Multiparametric Magnetic Resonance Imaging:
A novel technique available in few centers in Mexico, currently recommended in the USA and England, allowing non-invasive viewing with high reliability of lesions with cancer characteristics.
Transperineal Biopsy:
When images suggestive of malignant tumors are found, a transperineal biopsy is performed, taking small samples from the prostate guided by ultrasound through the perineum (region between testicles and anus). This biopsy type has become the international standard, as unlike the conventional transrectal form, it carries a lower risk of infections, abscesses, or bacteremia (bacteria in blood).
Treatment Options
HIGH INTENSITY FOCUSED ULTRASOUND (HIFU)
A minimally invasive treatment (without surgery) allows controlled cancer treatment, respecting functions like urinary continence (voluntary control of micturition) and erection; it uses high-intensity ultrasound to generate heat and ablation within the cancerous tissue. UROVALLARTA's Prostate Health Unit is among the few urological centers in Mexico with this technology.
RADICAL PROSTATECTOMY
A surgery involving complete removal of the prostate, performed laparoscopically, allowing the removal of the prostate and possibly cancer-invaded tissues with the advantages of laparoscopic technique, such as less bleeding, quicker recovery, and less invasion than open surgery.
RADIOTHERAPY
If more extensive local invasion (lymph nodes) is found, UROVALLARTA, in association with CLINICA DE RADIOTERAPIA DE OCCIDENTE, offers the therapeutic option of Radiotherapy using ionizing radiation to eliminate cancer cells invading tissues around the prostate, with state-of-the-art equipment, reducing rectal or bladder injury, thus avoiding classic symptoms with older generation equipment.
NUCLEAR MEDICINE
UROVALLARTA has the PSMA-Lutetium Nuclear Medicine treatment system, a novel technology used in the USA and Europe, as well as a few centers in Mexico, allows effective treatment for metastatic carcinoma in selected cases.
